A few more hours and it will be 2017! I remember returning to a snow clad Pittsburgh earlier this year after 3 weeks of vacationing in Kerala, India. The rest of the months seem to have just flown by! Nivedh, who could barely stand on his own at the beginning of this year is now confidently running alongside his brother and has turned out to be a great playmate as well. As for Adith, his speech clarity has improved a lot owing to better articulation of ‘f’, ‘s’, ‘j’ and ‘th’. He can narrate events, tell imaginary stories and carry out phone conversations with me easily and others if they are slow and clear enough. 2016 will be best remembered as the year in which Adith received a cochlear implant.
I often take voice memos with Adith as it helps to understand where he was in that particular time period. The con is that someone who hears it may not understand it very clearly as there are no visuals. For you to see where he is right now, here is a video of us reading together.
I hope 2017 would be a great year for you. Though I generally stay away from New Year resolutions, this year I do have some and hope to work towards making them possible. Wish you good health, happiness, the zeal to pursue something you have been putting off, the courage to do what you are afraid of, the desire to learn something new and become someone who has the potential to inspire others..Good luck!
